About 2 years ago I got, for Mother’s Day, a Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum.
Before I got this vacuum I used a Kirby, which I loved, but it was starting to have some issues and I was finding out how expensive they could really get. (Not including the nearly $1000 purchase price)
So, after much complaining I convinced my husband that I needed a new vacuum.
Initially I wanted a Dyson stick vacuum, but the price tag was WAY out of our price range. After searching the internet, I discovered videos of the Shark Rocket and fell in love with the thought that it just might be my perfect vacuum!
I decided that the first thing I wanted to do was test it.
I pulled out my heavy-duty Kirby vacuum and vacuumed my entire floor.
I then set up the Rocket and vacuumed the same area. What I discovered was disgusting! I was in awe the amount of filth the vacuum had picked up off of my floor, even after I had vacuumed with my Kirby.
I will admit that the failure of the Kirby to pick up the dirt that the Shark Rocket did could have been due to the fact that the Kirby was already having issues, but there is so much more that I love about the Rocket that the Kirby just couldn’t even hold up to.
First and foremost
The Shark Rocket weighs about 9 pounds and is easy to lift with one hand. Opposed is the Kirby which weighs WAY more and needs to be lugged around with both hands AND will impair toes if dropped on or run over!
The Shark Rocket has swivel head action, which allows you to go around things with ease.
Its head is flatter than most vacuums, which allows you to easily vacuum underneath furniture.
The dirt container is easy to use. With a simple press of two buttons to release it from the vacuum and the press of another button to empty, it is quick and easy!
It converts from the full vacuum to a handheld version quickly and easily.
It comes with a hard floor attachment and washable cloth. This is awesome, especially if you don’t like to sweep, which I don’t!
The filters are washable and reusable, and relatively inexpensive if you need to buy more.
There is one thing I DON’T like about this vacuum.
The cord set up. It is set up in such a way that when the cord is wrapped up on the holding pegs YOU CANNOT unclip the head from the vacuum, so you must unravel the entire cord just to take the head of the vacuum off…. can you say ANNOYING!
That being said, I feel like the pros outweigh the one con I’ve found with this vacuum by a mile.
Check it out on Amazon here.
